Upgraded CMS with streamlined support

Balfour Beatty US merged the buildings and civil groups under one business unit and required an upgrade to their outdated, non-supported CMS platform.

The sun is setting behind a tech construction site.

The Challenge

Building a better foundation

Balfour Beatty US merged the buildings and civil groups under one business unit and required an upgrade to their outdated, non-supported CMS platform. Constantly having to repair a slow, cumbersome legacy system was not conducive to the business’ ecosystem and cost the Balfour Beatty communications team valuable time in repairs. Balfour Beatty was in need of a better foundation to serve both business units and simultaneously unify the brand experience.

The Solution

Let me upgrade you

The previous version of Kentico was released from long term support and was in need of an upgrade in an effort to provide a more scalable and flexible solution. This would not only provide the business with the ability to grow, but it would also allow the business to keep pace with the ever-changing needs of the end user. Once the system was upgraded, the business would also require a support team to facilitate any issues post launch.

Allata was a strategic partner ensuring a successful outcome for our Kentico CMS upgrade. Their insights and expertise helped us mitigate risks that would have otherwise been unknown to us. Today, they continue to serve as a trusted partner to ensure we have a stable and nimble website.

A better solution

Our team redesigned and integrated the two Balfour Beatty US websites into a single US website. As part of the project, the team upgraded the business’ existing system, Kentico CMS, to version 10 and redesigned the look and feel to improve the overall user experience and increase adoption. The current website functionality was enhanced and was made more accessible, while also, providing on-going support for legacy browsers. These enhancements further empowered the Balfour Beatty communications team with a support structure that allows for a streamlined and more efficient manner for creating future changes to the website.
